Applicable Industries

Banking and Financial Sector

The banking and financial services sector is a preferred target for cybercriminals. This is due to the constant exchange of high-value information.

Pharmaceuticals

The pharmaceutical industry is a high target when it comes to cybercrime due to the amount of intellectual property and research and development data they deal with.

Energy

Protecting communications in the energy sector is vital. If information about an organisation’s drilling, extraction, refining, and logistics activities is leaked, it may cause prices to be affected which in turn will affect stock markets.

Legal professionals

Protecting the confidentiality of clients is an obligation of lawyers and law firms. If communications are not secured, a violation of lawyer client privilege arises which could result in disciplinary actions and reputational damage.

Consulting and Accountancy

Consulting and accounting services deal with high-value information all the time. They do this through multi-channel means which makes them an easy target for cybercriminals.

Mining

Confidential discussions regarding prospective mining locations and newly discovered deposits are constantly targeted by competitive intelligence analysts. Interception of this vital information can result in catastrophic losses.

Aerospace

Conversations surrounding the research and development of state-of-the-art aerospace technologies are highly targeted by competitors and foreign nations to gain a competitive or strategic advantage. The capture of this information can pose a threat to national security.
