A lawsuit has been filed against Uber by GoCatch, a ridesharing company in Australia. GoCatch is accusing Uber of using unethical business tactics to crush competition. GoCatch alleges that Uber infiltrated their servers using spyware called “Surfcam” to steal driver data, including contact information.
Uber then allegedly used this stolen information to poach GoCatch drivers. Uber denies these allegations. GoCatch also claims that Uber launched its services in Australia illegally. Uber refutes this claim stating that the regulations GoCatch is referring to did not exist at the time.
