Apple users: it’s time to do an update on your phone if you are still on iOS7. IT security firm Trend Micro found two malicious applications that work specifically on iOS 7, it is in one out of every five iPhones and iPads.
The apps steal personal data (contact lists, text messages, pictures and location data), record audio, make screenshots and send them to a remote server. The malware can be installed simply by clicking on a link that points to a service to install the app wirelessly or when an iOS device is connected to a compromised Windows computer.
On iOS 7 the app icon is hidden and when the processes are terminated it restarts immediately. Whilst on iOS 8, the app icon is not hidden and it cannot restart after being terminated.
